Egyptian born, Yousra El-Banan is a multi-faceted and talented performer, teacher, and choreographer. Yousra studied Middle Eastern dance with the talented Raqia Hassan, Farida Fahmy and Egyptian Master Teachers Faten Salama, Yousry Sharif and Aida Nour. Her lifetime of exposure to a variety of music and dance, including ballroom and Latin styles, has influenced her strong passion for dance.
Her ability to teach complex techniques and create innovative and intricate choreography's has given her a reputation for dynamic, expressive and elegant performances. Yousra teaches weekly classes at the Colony South Hotel in Clinton, MD and at Cleopatra’s Closet Studio in Alexandria, VA. She is the Director of "Dokki Ya Mazika" and “Belly Dance for Life” All Stars, a troupe comprised of a number of her dance students. Yousra is also the Director of the famous and popular "Arabian Nights" shows at Casablanca Restaurant in Alexandria, VA, and the Colony South Hotel in Clinton, MD.
Yousra is a marathon runner, and puts that same energy and enthusiasm into all of her pursuits..
